Biography

Aaron Parkhurst has over two decades of tap dance experience and has worked professionally for the past 10 years in NYC, which he now calls home. Aaron currently tours teaching tap for Revel Dance Convention, has previously toured with 24 Seven Dance Convention, Shuffles NYC, Dance Masters of America and Sheer Talent. Currently, You can catch him teaching at Broadway Dance Center as well. He also teaches weekly classes throughout NYC and NJ and travels the country to choreograph and instruct master classes. Aaron enjoys teaching and passing on his love for dance to younger generations. Aaron has also enjoyed a career in concert dance, working as a soloist and collaborator. Solo Performances include The Best of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts conducted by Roland Carter. He has traveled through Europe dancing with The Tap Factor and danced on World of Dance Season 1. Favorite theatre credits include: 42 Street, White Christmas, Thoroughly Modern Millie and My One and Only.

Why is Sprung Flooring important to you?

This company holds a dear place in my heart. I have been dancing on these floors Since 2012. I would dance daily on this flooring while on tour for months straight. I honestly think where my body would be if I didn’t have access to this product. How my body would’ve held up, or where my bodily health would be today. I contribute the longetivity and health of my joints and legs to the fact I stay committed to dancing always on this flooring. Its important for dancers to know the benefits of sprung flooring. I love to continue being an advocate for sprung flooring, not just for tap dancers. all dancers!

Career Highlights

Touring Europe and the Middle East Tap dancing with “The Tap Factor”. I wouldn’t have thought I would ever be able to travel for this art form and can thank the art of tap dancing and performing because of it.

Teaching- I love Instructing. Instruction and building bonds with my students. Also watching them grow as dancers. Teachers themselves or becoming choreographers themselves. Special process I always look forward to witnessing.

Solo Performances include The Best of Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts conducted by Roland Carter. It was a first bucket list moment to perform with a orchestra. The experience of dancing with live music and the sharing of music and time with musicians and myself was a surreal moment in my career.
