Our 8′ x 8′ Sprung Maple Wood Tap Floor gives you 64 square feet of dedicated space for tap and other percussive dance styles. There’s room to travel, turn, work through combinations, and practice choreography without needing a full-size studio.

The real Maple surface is made to stand up to the repeated impact of tap shoes while giving dancers the clear sound and solid feel they need from their floor. The sprung construction provides 70% shock absorption for a more forgiving practice surface.

Designed for tap, Irish dance, Highland, Flamenco, and other hard-shoe and percussive dance styles. Maple can also be used for soft-shoe and barefoot, making it a versatile choice for dancers who practice more than one style.

Room to Really Move

It’s a comfortable size for one dancer practicing full-out, with enough room for a few dancers to share the floor when needed. The 8′ x 8′ floor fits within many home studios and dedicated practice spaces, offering a substantial amount of dance space without requiring a traditional studio.

Maple is chosen for our tap floors because it creates a durable, responsive surface for percussive dance. It can handle the repeated impact of hard shoes while producing a crisp, clear sound quality.

The tap floor is meant to show use. Over time, tap shoes will leave dents, scratches, cuffs and dark marks on the wood. These are normal signs of percussive dance and do not reduce the floor’s shock absorption or it’s ability to perform. Cleaning the surface properly and regularly can help your floor exist beautifully for years to come.

Designed for Simple Assembly

The 8′ x 8′ floor arrives in individual panels that fit together using tongue-and-groove edges and our clamp and cable system. Once connected, the panels create one secure, continuous practice surface without requiring the floor to be permanently installed in your space.

The floor is assembled in sections, so it can be disassembled when needed. If you move, change practice spaces, or reorganize the room, your floor can move with you.

Your floor includes the clamp and cable set, installation tool kit, and instructions needed for assembly.

Expand As You Grow

The configuration is designed with expansion in both directions in mind, giving you the option to add more dance space as your room, studio, or practice needs change.

The floor is built from 4′ x 4′ and 2′ x 4′ panels, allowing the standard layout to expand in 4′ increments in one direction and 8′ increments in the other while keeping the panel layout consistent.
